Donegal Schoolboys Arena 7 U16 Champions League :: Rathmullan Celtic 0-1 Copany Rovers

League
27/01/08 -- Rathmullan Celtic U16's 0-1 Copany Rovers U16's -- Shane Walsh (85) -- Venue: Killowen Park

Played in ideal conditions at Rathmullans Flagpole Field, both sides second game of the competition served up some great football.

Rathmullan put the visitors under immediate pressure but a superb save from Andrew Wilson foiled Philip Hegarty who was through on goal.

The home side maintained the pressure in the first half against their fancied opponents. Rathmullans David Miller missed a great chance in the 20th minute when he failed to convert Barry McNamee's fine cross to the back post.

In the second half, Copany had some good possession but failed to threaten Rathmullens' Barett in the home goal. With Chris Barrett and David Fisher driving them on, Rathmullen created more chances, including a 35 yard drive from Ryan Vaughan. There was also an almightly scramble on the Copany goal line with Paddy Hull, David Fisher and Cormac Friel all going close.

In the final five minutes, Copany broke and after a fine save from Oisin Barrett, Shane Walsh scrambled the ball over the line to give the visitors a hard earned three points.
