Almost perennial top goalscorer Thomas Given posesses probably the best header at the club and is also a good finisher, and has played part of previous campaigns as a striker, before re-establishing himself at the heart of the midfield towards the end of the 07/08 season.
Thomas played sparingly in the promotion season of 08/09 due to family and marathon-running commitments. However, thankfully, he had prematurely announced his retirement, and rejoined towards the end of the season and played his part in helping secure promotion. Like his brother William, this was a deserved promotion for a player who has given stellar commitment to Copany over the years.
After taking a break, Thomas was welcomed back into the fold of a strugging Copany side in the 10/11 season - a side that had lost their opening six matches. Along with Stephen Doherty in midfield, Thomas' return marked a change in fortune for a Copany side that played like promotion contenders for the remaining two-thirds of the campaign.
