Inspired substitute Stanley Hammond scored a crucial goal on his debut to take the Brian McCormick Sports Cup match against Letterbarrow Celtic into extra time.

Stanley was on the pitch for a matter of ten minutes when he made a mazy run past a number of Letterbarrow players before unleashing an unstoppable bullet strike from 30 yards past the Letterbarrow keeper.

Stanley is no stranger to joint-manager Stephen Johnston, with the duo having known each other for the best part of 22 years. Stanley, at 26, was in no hurry to make his debut in senior football, but the finish, at such a crucial period of the match, made it well worth the wait.
