Would Roo believe it - last minute piledriver hands Drumbar vital win in their relegation battle.
This local fixture had all the trappings of a derby match. Both sides were determined not to give an inch with every breaking ball becoming a battle for possession especially in the middle of the field, with Copany’s Aaron Scott and Alan McGirr facing down Drumbar’s Conor Browne and Aiden Cassidy.
Clear cut chances were few and far between though the home side hit the net from a set piece on the 20th minute but off side was ruled against them. Benny Mundy was stopped in his tracks by Drumbar’s Shane Browne as he set his sights on putting his name on the scoreboard. David Giblin and John Mc Loone combined but the effort was off target in the first half.
The second half continued in the same fashion with both sides making changes to break the deadlock. Dale Duncan saw his header skim the wrong side of the post for Copany on the 72nd minute. Drumbar left it to the dying minute secured all 3 points, having hit the net from the foot of Tommy Diver on the 87th minute only to be disallowed for offside, Conor Rooney took matters into his own hands latching onto a perfect through ball from Gary Harron he stormed through in the last minute to give the keeper no chance with a rocket into the bottom corner of the Copany net.
Alan McGirr and David Graham were best for Copany. Shane Browne and Gary Harron stood out for Drumbar
