The Cobras followed up their win over Drumkeen with a four-two victory over Drumbar United in a typically competitive outing.
Although both sides were without a number of key players, the game will have been a good workout for both sides in advance of the forthcoming campaign.
Former Drumbar United striker, Padraig Rooney opened the scoring for Copany after 15 minutes. A quick throw in from Gary Harron was cleverly flicked on by David Graham, and Padraig Rooney met the ball on the half-volley and sent the ball crashing to the back of the net from well outside the area for an outstanding opener.
David Graham doubled Copanys advantage on 23 when he scored a fine individual goal with a surging run before cutting into his left foot and guiding home from inside the area.
John Kerrigan made it 3-0 for Copany on 53 minutes when he netted from close range following a defensive error before John McAloon pulled one back for Drumbar. Benny Mundy then netted a goal for Copany against the run of play, that his effort deserved on 67 before Aidan 'Butch' Cassidy replied for Drumbar with an expertly finished strike, gliding the ball into the top-corner from the edge of the area.
Nick Maskery was outstanding in midfield for the visitors. Still, two good team performances.
