Match Report
The Cobras signed off their pre-season in style with a resounding victory over Letterbarrow Celtic.

Buoyed by the return of talismanic playmaker Aaron Scott, the Laghey men started the encounter in an electric fashion, going four goals up within the first half hour.

Paul Clarke opened Copanys account when he latched onto a through ball, and buried the ball into the corner of the net from the edge of the area.

Lee Doherty then doubled the account with an excellent intricate chip from just outside the area.

Another new man, Colin Mulhern put the game out of sight when he broke the offside trap and cleverly clipped the ball over the advancing 'keeper.

Copany had their fourth by the half hour, when Paul Clarke netted his second of the game after bursting through the defense.

Letterbarrow belatedly got into the encounter after this, and forced a flurry of half-chances before the break, and indeed pulled one back when their big number 9 was afforded a free header at the back post from a corner kick.

Paul Patton added the fifth for Copany before half time, when the Cobras netted following a corner of their own. Glen Harrons header rebounded off the post, and onto the grateful forehead of Paul Patton who had the simplest of tasks to send the ball home from six yards.

Copany played some neat posession football in the second half, and scored their sixth when Lee Doherty grabbed his second of the game, glancing a long ball into the box to the corner of the Letterbarrow net.

Next up is the Brian McCormick Sports Cup match against St. Catherines on Sunday. Training on Friday at the pitch.
