This derby match was played in glorious conditions between two young sides.

This derby match was played in glorious conditions between two young sides.

Copany started the better of the sides and were unlucky not to be ahead early on when Paul Clarke - captain of the side for the first time - was brilliantly denied by Enda Kenny in goal for Letterbarrow.

Somewhat against the run of play Letterbarrow took the lead when James McGroary rounded the Copany 'keeper to slot home.

However, Copany fought hard and were rewarded when David Graham hammered a terrific left footed shot into the top corner after beating three Letterbarrow players.

The start of the second half brought chances for both sides but Letterbarrow gained a better grip on the match and went 2-1 up on sixety minutes when Kevin Campbell finished superbly with his left foot after some good link play.

With Copany pushing for an equaliser the game was end-to-end for the last fifteen minutes but Letterbarrow held on for a deserved three points.

Best for Letterbarrow were Stephen Graham, James McGroary and Kevin Campbell with a fine display from David Graham for the visitors.
