The final game of the CT Ball Division for both Copany and Whitestrand had all the markings of an end of season encounter with little to play for for either side.
The game was played on Friday evening at a sunny Killowen Park, where the home side recorded victory by a four goal margin, with two goals in either half.
Whitestrand started the better of the two sides and created a couple of chances in the opening ten minutes. However, it was the home side that took the lead on 14 minutes, when winger David Graham scored his 10th of the campaign by drilling the ball into the net off the post from the edge of the area.
The Cobras doubled their advantage on 32 minutes when Dale Duncan slotted home neatly from close range from a center by Glen Harron.
The lively Shaun McGovern attempted to drag Whitestrand back into the encounter, showing why he is Whitestrands top goalscorer this season by going close with a number of efforts, the closest an effort which curled just past the wrong side of the post following a surging run past three Copany players.
Copany grabbed their third - and the one that effectively ended the contest - on 56 minutes when Glen Harron got on the end of a quick throw in by Paul Clarke and fired home off the post with a well placed finish.
The final goal of the encounter came on 62 minutes when Paul Clarke broke the offside trap, and took his time before placing the ball past the 'keeper.
Gary Ward went close to extending the home sides advantage on a rare outfield appearance for the final 20 minutes - his clever backheel from a cross bouncing off the post.
The Whitestrand 'keeper - unfortunate to concede four despite having a solid game - made a top class save down to his right from a David Graham effort late on.
Best for Whitestrand was the impressive midfielder Shaun McGovern, with Dale Duncan proving a good outlet at left back for the home side, starting or involved in most of Copanys attacks all game.
