Poor defending was to cost Copany dear in this encounter with Cappry in Cappry Park, as they went down 4-0. On a fine Cappry surface, both teams started brightly, creating a number of opportunities, but the deadlock wasn't to be breached until the 42nd minute. Three minutes before the break, Frank McGlynn picked up the ball midway through the Copany half, and slid a fine through ball for the pacy Kevin McGlynn, who was fouled from behind by Darren Kilpatrick as he broke into the box. Benny McLaughlin stepped up and sent Gary Ward the wrong way to give the hosts the lead. The second half saw Copany put in a very disappointing performance, as firstly a short backpass from William Given let in PJ Gallagher to double Capprys advantage. Another couple of quick fire goals made sure of the points for Cappry, albeit poor defending once again from a Copany perspective. Once again, Aaron Scott was the outstanding Copany player on show, with Ryan Kerrigan putting in an impressive cameo substitute performance. Copany Team: Subs: |
