League 25/01/08 @ 2:00PM -- Copany Rovers 1-1 Kerrykeel '71 Club -- Francie Johnston (52) -- Venue: Killowen Park
Copany and Kerrykeel played out a closely fought draw in Killowen Park. Kerrykeel had the first chace of the game on three minutes when their right-back hit the woodwork from the edge of the box. Copany responded and went close through both David Graham and Francie Johnston, but neither goal was breached before half-time. Copany took the lead on 52 minutes, when Francie Johnston got on the end of a through ball and his effort trickled over the line via a deflection of an unfortunate defender. There were a couple of chances at either end, but it was Kerrykeel who grabbed the equaliser with 10 minutes to go, when Barry McNulty headed neatly into the corner after a long diagonal ball into the box. Immediately after the restart Darryl Duncan almost scored Copanys second but he put the ball over the crossbar from close range after good work from David Graham. Best for Copany were Aaron Scott and David Graham, with 'keeper Shane Sandilands best for Kerrykeel. Referee: Liam Farren Copany Team: Subs: |
