The race for promotion from the C.T. Ball Division 2 is coming to a close with the final quarter of the season in sight. With two teams going up automatically, and a third qualifying for the promotion/relegation play-off final, each of the six teams involved in the promotion race have it all to play for. Each of the six sides are on various points and games played. Cappry appear to have the league title, and one of the automatic promotion places wrapped up. They are seven points clear of their nearest rivals, and two wins from their last four are all that the Ballybofey side require to cap an excellent season with the title. Copany lie second in the table, on 23 points with four games to go, one point clear of Glenree, who appear to have the more straightforward run-in. This weekends clash in Killowen Park will go a long way to deciding the fate of both teams, and is a six-pointer if ever there was one. Letterbarrow can go joint second if they win their game in hand, and although they have a tough run-in, much will depend on their ability to keep their Ballyshannon and Glenties players involved come the start of the gaelic football season. Kerrykeel and Cranford - who had a massive win at the weekend to keep them in with a shout of promotion - are the other teams looking to gain promotion. Kerrykeel had a great run in the FAI Junior Cup, but will now be fully focused on the league, while Cranford have four home games at a ground in which they have not lost for two years. Here are the final remaining games for each of the six sides in with a shout of promotion. Cappry Rovers: Played 12, Points 30, Remaining Games 4 Copany Rovers: Played 12, Points 23, Remaining Games 4 Glenree United: Played 12, Points 22, Remaining Games 4 Letterbarrow Celtic: Played 11, Points 20, Remaining Games 5 Kerrykeel: Played 11, Points 19, Remaining Games 5 Cranford United: Played 10, Points 15, Remaining Games 6 |
